Extinctus is a world where all extinct species still exist. They live and die as they did when they inhabited Earth. Book 1 begins with the killing of the last remaining Thylacine or Tasmanian wolf. Now extinct, the last Thylacine, now going by the name of Thylac, becomes obsessed with vengeance on the human blood line that caused the extinction of his species. The grandson of the hunter that killed the last Thylacine is mysteriously kidnapped with five of his friends, while setting up an archaeological dig site, and wake up in the world of Extinctus. They are protected by magnificent creatures known as the Light Extinctos.
Can the humans avoid capture by the vengefully obsessed Thylac and his cruel followers called the Dark Extinctos?
Extinctus/The Beginning focuses on introducing the reader to Extinctus and the perils the humans face and must survive while trapped in this unique world. The humans are paired up and taken to different times periods within Extinctus: the Paleocene Epoch (65 to 55 million years ago), The Miocene Epoch (23 to 5 million years ago), and the Pleistocene Epoch (2 million to 10,000 years ago). How will they survive on their own in these violent times while the Light Extinctos leave to raise an army of species to battle the Dark Extinctos?
Extinctus introduces a multitude of species based off the fossil record. Species that evolved after the disappearance of the dinosaurs. How did the Earth re-populate after Earth was decimated by the cataclysmic event known as the Cretaceous--Paleogene extinction event that left the planet virtually void of all life?
The readers is introduced to fascinating species like the Creodonts, the Artiodactyls, the Probisceadeans, and many other families of species that rose to rule the Earth only to vanish millions of years later, eventually replaced by new more adaptable species.
